Things To Do Near Wyndham Dominicus Beach

From La Romana to nearby Saona and Catalina Island, there are tours, activities and lush tropical scenery to enjoy. Land tours to the island of Dominicus take in the local flavor and culture, stopping along the way to enjoy pure cacao, coffee and tobacco in its natural state, or to pick pineapples, avocados and bananas right from the tree at real working plantations.

A scenic two hour drive from the resort is the historic capital city, Santo Domingo. Visit the first Cathedral of the Americas, marvel at the species in the National Aquarium and bargain for souvenirs at Mercado Modelo, the colorful marketplace.

Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach is also situated on and nearby to the some of the most picturesque diving locations in the Caribbean. An underwater wonderland of tropical fish and reefs is all around, and a variety of VIVA Wyndham diving packages can be booked directly at the resort. PADI-Certified scuba instructors are on hand for first lessons, and then transition guests to the ocean, as well as leading export divers on a magical exploration of the local waters. St. George, a 240-foot wreck sunk 135 feet down directly in front of the Dominicus Beach, has created an artificial reef and offers advanced divers the opportunity of a lifetime.
